Hello Wichita State and welcome to the AAC. The Shockers made the move to join the AAC, and are already docked to be the clear favorites to win the conference title. Wichita State returns their top 8 scorers from last year. However, we cannot count out Cincinnati and SMU who arguably had the best battle for the championship in any conference last year. SMU won the regular season title and tournament, but it was not easy. SMU returns high scorer Shake Milton to be the leader, and added USFs top scorer Jahmal McMurray on transfer. Cincy gets the duo of Jacob Evans III and Kyle Washington back and out for revenge. A definite sleeper in this conference is Houston, who may be good enough to contend for the title. Rob Gray who averaged 20.6 PPG is returning, but he may not have enough help around him for this team to be prolific. UCONN looks to get back to being the dominant force they were just a few years ago. The Huskies return many assets to help them win, but it is not the year for them in my eyes. The Lawson brothers both transferred out of Memphis leaving Memphis in a crisis. We may witness the Tigers end up at the bottom of the conference, but they cannot possibly be as bad USF or Tulane who will not get out of the bottom of the conference.
