Just like their blue blood partner Kansas, Kentucky may face their biggest challenge in many years. Florida’s top scorer KeVaughn Allen is returning, and ready to lead his Gators to dethroning Kentucky. However, the Wildcats are strong once again with the best recruiting class in the nation. #10 Kevin Knox, #12 PJ Washington, #17 Nick Richards, #19 Jarrad Vanderbilt, #24 Quade Green, and #35 Shai-Gilguous Alexander of this year’s top 100 freshman come into the year knowing it is up to them to win the SEC. Many very good teams will trail these two in the SEC race. Alabama has my pick for freshman of the year Collin Sexton, Georgia returns Yante Maten, and adds many solid assets, Missouri has Michael Porter Jr the most talented freshman coming in this year, Texas A/M has a top NBA draft prospect Robert Williams and teammate Tyler Davis back, Mississippi State has the duo of the two best basketball players with the last name Weatherspoon (Quincy and Nick), Vandy has veteran leadership, and Arkansas returned 3 of their top 5 scorers including Daryl Macon. Ole Miss to me will be the most improved team in the country this year. DeAndre Burnett is an unreal player, a great leader, and he has a lot of talent around him. I see the Rebels making the NCAA Tournament with ease. South Carolina found a way to make the Final Four last year, but only one starter returns (Chris Silva). This team may make a complete U-turn, and find themselves towards the bottom of the SEC. Also at the bottom should be Tennessee, Auburn, and LSU.
Regular Season Champ- Florida
Tournament Champ- Alabama
However, Kentucky is still a top 10 team!
