Main Takeaways

Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone has still got it! In a fight where Cowboy and Medeiros showed nothing but respect for one another, it truly was two good friends battling it out in the octagon. In a main event that started with a flurry of punches ended before the first round could end. With high intensity combos coming from both fighters it only took Cowboy 4:58 seconds in the first round to land a hard right hand on Medeiros that took him to the ground followed by a flurry of ground shots. Before you knew it, referee Herb Dean called the fight, and that’s all she wrote.

Derrick Lewis and Marcin Tybura put on a clinic for the people of Austin, Texas. In a classic 265lb fight, both these men showed their raw power. With major hands and a decent amount of grappling throughout the fight it was easy to tell neither of these fighters were going to go down easy. In what looked like a sure win for Tybura in a few points throughout the fight, it didn’t end that way. Tybura out grappled Lewis in the fight but when the third round came around, Lewis got the best of Tybura with that nasty right hand. Once dropped, Tybura didn’t stand a chance against Lewis and the ref called the fight.
